CHARACTERIZATION OF PERMANENT FOULING ON THE SURFACES OF UV LAMPS USED FOR WASTEWATER DISINFECTION
The objective of this study is to analyze the extent of deterioration of quartz sleeves surrounding UV lamps after short- and long-term applications and after frequent cleaning by different methods: chemical and/or mechanical cleaning. This research showed that automated chemical and mechanical cleaning was more effective in removing foulants on sleeves covering UV lamps than mechanical cleaning alone.
