ADVANCES IN THE APPLICATION OF THE SWAT MODEL FOR WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
A national scale analysis of the effect of management scenarios on water quality and quantity. The potential of SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) for application in flood analysis and prediction is examined. Case studies are reported (Kenya and Texas). Generation of rainfall data. The GIS tool chosen is GRASS (Geographic Resources Analysis Support System). The interface facilitates the analysis of the different watershed management scenarios on water yield and quality.
