Technical, Planning and Advisory Team in the Water and Sanitation Sector (TPAT) Phase II
On Dec. 14th 2009, the Palestinian National Authority endorsed an "Action Plan for Reform" towards the definition and implementation of a comprehensive program of institutional and legislative reform in the Palestinian water sector. As the central body in the sector leading the reform process, the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) contracted with Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) for Technical, Planning and Advisory Team in the Water and Sanitation Sector (TPAT) Phase II. The purpose of this team is to provide technical assistance and capacity building (TA/CB) considering the new Water law and new organisation structure for PWA to be developed, in an effort to assist in the implementation of the reform, and ultimately building capacity within the PWA.
PWC entrusted the International Office for Water with :
1- the revision fo the transboundary Water Resources Strategy prepared by PWA in 2013
2 - the development of General Policy of Water Demand Management (WDM) : concepts and principles
1- The revision of the transboundary Water Resources Strategy prepared by PWA in 2013 included propositions of different possible scenarios for the creation of transboundary water management intsitutions.
2- The development of "General Policy of Water Demand Management (WDM) : concepts and principles" (statement, management plan, implementation method, constraints, performance indicators …).
