DETERMINATION OF THE HYDRAULIC RESIDENCE TIME IN A TRICKLING BIOFILTER FILLED WITH ORGANIC MATTER
Determining the hydraulic residence time in biofiltration process is a complex task, especially in peat biofiltration systems due to their large adsorption capacity and the specific hydraulic behaviour to this organic matter. In order to solve this problem, two techniques, the tracer and the determination of the volume of liquid in treatment, are presented. Results showed interesting progress for the treatment systems research.
