DENITRIFICATION OF GROUNDWATER WITH ELEMENTAL SULFUR
Presentation of denitrification reactor with a glass column packed with granular sulfur and fed with soluble inorganic carbon (sodium carbonate). Details on characteristics of the denitrification reactor. Results and discussion after five month with different water velocities. Diagrams on influent and effluent pH and concentrations of inorganic carbon. Variations on the ratio of sulfate formed to nitrate removed in reactor. Nitrogen loading and rates of nitrogen removal in the reactor are done versus time.
